My Favorite Filaments for 3D Printing Polymer Clay Cutters
Would you believe me if I told you I've tried over 50 different filament brands??
Well I have!
Some of them in various colors. When I set out to sell clay cutters I was looking for a filament that wouldn't clog, bubble, crack, etc. I wanted the highest quality clay cutters I could possibly make!
So I tried over 50 filament brands lol.
So here is a list of filaments I recommend personally AND what I've gathered from other clay cutter makers!
My Recommended Filaments
Overture PLA+
I LOVE Overture PLA+ (or professional, depending on where you order it from). This is what I used when I was selling clay cutters and what I use when I'm making .2 nozzle cutters. It never clogs on me, it's got a gorgeous shine but not so much that it's hard to photograph or looks cheap. With the right settings it can give you really sharp and smooth cutting cutters. It has excellent layer adhesion which means less chances of layer separation, even with crappy slicer settings.
Bambu Basic PLA
Bambu's Basic PLA is great! It's budget friendly, especially during their bulk sales. I do NOT recommend using it with a .2 nozzle however. I have gotten several clogged nozzles trying to use it with a .2 nozzle. But your regular .4 nozzle cutters? It's great! I have several students who sell cutters using bambu's filament so you don't have to shy from that.
Other's Recommended Filaments (I can't recommend these because I don't use them, though I have trialed them before!)
Esun PLA+
